WASSUP Y'ALL!
I have been riding lately, and when I get in the higher RPMs, past 5k the bike starts to bog down. It ended up being an ignition coil issue. The right coil gets pretty hot and the left one does not at all... I tested my coils and this is what I got:
Left Coil:
Primary: 4 ohms
Secondary: 18.2k ohms
Right Coil: (The hot one)
Primary: 4 ohms
Secondary: Nothing!
Here are the temperature readings as well:
Left:
Right:
I was worried because one coil was getting hot and the other wasn't, but when the bike is turned on and not running of course the coil is gonna get hot, what I didn't think about was why the other coil isn't hot at all... so I checked the wires that plug into the coils and the right one read ~12v or exactly what the battery was at. The left one read ~10v and then slowly went down to absolutely nothing.
In the end I have decided that I need to replace the coils/wires/plug caps. I am just confused about which ones I should get because I have read everywhere that I should get Dyna Green 3ohm coils/plugs/NGK caps. I was about to order them and I thought more about how my coils read 4ohm, I can't find anything in my manual about what my ohm rating is SUPPOSED to be, but would I be okay with the 3ohm Dyna greens?
My bike also does NOT have points it is stock with an electronic ignition, thanks for all the help ahead of time!
JUST REALIZED THAT IS ONLY FOR 4 CYL ENGINES:
I was also thinking about buying the ACCEL Super Coils because coils seem to just be coils, I just want ones that work, and I can get Amazon Prime shipping and have them here in one day. This is my daily driver and yes I can ride it around, but I really don't know when it's gonna go on me: http://www.amazon.com/ACCEL-140403-Universal-Super-Coil/dp/B001OMKFKS/ref=sr_1_4?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1347235342&sr=1-4&keywords=accel+super+coil
Are these just too cheap? How about DCC or MIKEXS coils, or should I stick big name brand like Dyna or Accel?
