I purchased some black neoprene cut to fit seat foam with adhesive backing to attach to my fiberglass seat with gloss gel coat. Long into short, the factory adhesive backing was about as strong as post-it glue so I stripped the adhesive off of the foam. I've tried using 3m 30lb double sided tape, didn't work. Just tried 3m super 77 and it worked a little better, but still wouldn't wrap around curves and stick very well. Plus it definitely doesn't dry clear like they state and looks like crap. I just want something that will stick and hold strong without causing damage to the foam. Any ideas? Thanks!
Any particular brand? I bought some of the 15 lb "velcro" brand for my battery and that stuff was very sticky. I was actually thinking about using it for the seat as well, but if you know of something that will hold better on tight curves, that be great! Thanks.
Neoprene seat foam to seat pan (fiberglass w/ gloss gel coat). The seat pan has some pretty tricky compound curves so the 3m super 77 didn't hold on those corners of the foam and it just lifted. Even after having continued compression for over an hour.

What kind do you use? And will it hold the foam down if it has to wrap around/conform to tricky curves? I keep having an issue with the foam lifting on the corners. The foam is pretty flexible due to it being neoprene, so as long as that velcro adhesive sticks to the foam then it should do the trick, right? I've seen two different types of industrial strength velcro, the gray hook and loop kind (velcro brand) and the weird black interlocking finger type from 3m. The velcro brand worked great on my battery mount location (flat mount), but its gray and my seat and foam are black. So that gray would show and look weird, so if that black 3m stuff would work just as good or better then I'd rather use it. Thanks!
I'll have to look into the neoprene adhesive. Do you have any experience with it? I decided to try the super 77 based on online recommendations from foam/rubber manufacturer. I'm not putting vinyl on the seat. Just running the neoprene foam by itself.
Velcro adhesive on neoprene won't work any better than what you've already tried. 3M 1300 is pretty much standard fair for neoprene. For neoprene, you need a neoprene adhesive. If you want something in black, then get something for wetsuit repair.
I've never had luck with Super 77 for much of anything except laminating vinyl and wood. High Strength 90 works great on most seat foams, but not as good for neoprene.

I've only used the 1300 for neoprene, but I've seen it recommended by vendors. Fast Bond 100 is another one used for neoprene and various foams. It's used in making compound cushions and furniture making. I've seen it used, but never used it myself.
