Only my second post on here so hello again everyone. My new ACE 125 arrived on Thursday got to say I'm pretty impressed its not as bad as i was expecting having had a skyteam monkey bike in the past which wasn't great to be honest. I've just had an hour having a bit fiddle with it this afternoon, changed the oil in forks, new shocks on and fitted new clip on bars. First of many mods i have planned for the little girl. Discovered my camera on phone doesn't work so cant post any pics yet but will do as soon as pos.
The 'Ace' is not without its flaws, but once those are fixed it's a great bike to ride. Besides, it's a great opportunity to personalise the machine - I haven't see two the same.
Thanks mikey glad to be here seems like a great forum.
crazy like i say i am well chuffed with the bike so far and it was this forum that made me take the plunge and go for the little skyteam, love what people have done with them and got big plans for my little girl. my girlfriend is going to start riding this year so its ideal for her but have a feeling i might be getting another one if she takes to it other wise i'll never get to play out on it.
Well I have got the new front tyre fitted gone for michelin pilot street back one to change yet, front mud guard cut down ready to repaint and the top yolk is all nice and polished up. I'll get some picture on as soon as i can. Next on the list of jobs to do is make up a stainless exhaust front pipe to fit dual exhausts. Welder went pop today so depends on if its fixable as to how long the exhaust will take but i'll keep you all posted about how i get on with it.
Well quick update on how my girl is coming along, front guard and side panels are painted as is the tank, but the tank is waiting for decal i'm having made before i clear coat it. Only other thing i have done is work out where and how i'm going to mount exhausts. managed to take a few pics.
Hello all, not got much done this weekend. Had a bit of a struggle with the welder but have got the rear section of my exhaust done. Not as neat as i hoped for so will take some polishing to get it how i want it but I'll get there lol. Still waiting for the art work for my tank so thats not finished yet. Hoping to have the exhaust finished at the week end and fingers crossed i'll get to fire her up for the first time.
Liam, yeah no miles haha only bought the bike to modify it i'm just struggling trying not to go to mad with it.
Hi crazy, yeah I haven't seen an Ace with dual exhausts that's why I went for it, like to be different. My girlfriend is going to be using this bike so I'm already thinking about getting another one for me and doing even more to it.
... looks awesome, can't wait for the update with the system all fitted and hearing it running ! ... dont suppose you would be interested in making a second 1-in-to-2 pipe for a fee ? !!! (had to ask!).
Hey Haz, I would love to be able to make you a system but I have had a nightmare doing the front part of system but got there in the end. Think this will be mark 1. I will be redoing front pipe once i can get a new welder or borrow the TIG from work. As you'll see from the pictures its not the best so i'm not happy at all with it. I need the bike on the road for 5th march so will be using exhaust wrap on front pipe for time being. As well as getting the exhaust done i got front guard finished and am busy painting the tank just waiting for last coat to dry before i pipe pin striping on.
