So hey,

I'm new around here.
I've been reading the skyteam topic for a while.
I have an 125cc ace, and i ride it almost every day for 25 km +.
It is 2,5 years old, 13 000km on the clock. Bought it new.
It looks amazing but, here's the deal.
It's Chinese.
I do not treat her wrong but :

8 broken spokes, in both wheels
warped disc brake rotor
lights breaking down
broken clamp on the clutch lever
headlight coming loose
rear brake gets stuck (and doesn't work)...
bearings on the wheels failed
bearings on the rear fork!!!!!! failed after 5000 km.
sprocket totally scrapped after 6000km
bearings in ballhead failed

The list of small problems is endless.

So, I've started rebuilding it like a honda :
Wheels will be MBX50 alloys
front fork wil be NSR
triple tree wil be CB125T
front brake will be NSR

carb is a true keihin from a cg125
exhaust is open megaphone sort of type
CDI changed

I'd just like to say,
the engine is OK
the rest is crap and needs replacing with better parts when the originals wear out.

I like OOracing, but they sell Chinese stuff (to be fair, at Chinese prices, so i buy there too).
They also are the only sellers of a new front brake rotor.

I'll post some pictures in a while. I like rebuilding and riding it more than taking pictures of it.

Aint it Fun,

I am just going to start picking up Honda spares for mine as i know the original parts are going to fail.

$2500 dosent stretch very far when building a motorbike at least the money went into the engine and frame, i have really enjoyed making mine better than new.

And here it is.

The rear wheel is quite easy. It's less wide than the original so i needed a few spacers. The sprocket is a 420 instead of a 428, so I needed a front sprocket and a new chain.

The honda front wheels need fork spacing of 15,5cm; the Ace has 14,5cm.

First problem is the triple tree or yoke. The only one that has the right steering stem length is one from a CB125T, or CB125RS in the UK.
Next problem are the forks :
CB125 accepts 31mm diameter forks.
CB125 has a crappy floating caliper.
MBX50 wheels have a 220mm disc brake.

Solution :
NSR forks are 30mm
NSR forks have attachment for the same 220mm disc brake as the MBX. The caliper on the NSR is the same as the ace.

I'm going to build a new front end and swap the whole thing.
