New Guy Checking In, Atlanta

Hey guys, just signed up for this forum. Also signed up for Cafe Racer.Net . This forum "seems" to be more so aesthetic based. Decided to join bot and get a little of both worlds. Recently purchased my first bike. A 1971 cb350. I have yet to bring her home, hopefully this week I will. But she seems to run good. I am going to have someone thoroughly go through her but this is what I was told has been done recently

A new battery, new fuel lines, fuel petcock replaced, gas tank relined and sealed, Engine taken apart and had fresh gaskets, Full bolt restoration on the engine, transmission was inspected along with clutch discs, New tach and speedo cables. There was also fresh oil put in. New levers for both Front brake and clutch, carbs were cleaned and re-gasketed. New rectifier was installed, new exhaust pipes, new gear shift lever. If I remember anything else i'll send it your way.

Apparently the work was farmed out as will, so there are invoices for parts etc...

This is my motivation for what I would like my bike to closely resemble

Nothing too fancy. I like things to look like it could be stock...but isn't.
Can anyone point me in the direction of those type of handle bars?

And here is what she looks like now

You'll get plenty of feedback if you decide to try and convert it to a monoshock without the proper engineering. Loads of technical expertise here with guys who race, win land speed records and have been tearing up the back roads of your neck of the woods for years.

Loads of us (100's) will be gathering for the Barber Vintage Festival in October. DO THE TON has had an official presence there for the last couple of years, partnering with Dime City Cycles, Ace Cafe and others.

The bars on the BikeEXIF bike look to be Norman Hyde M bars. Some call them mustache bars.

I have no desire to anything that complicated...or not that complicated at the moment...I just want to ride for the most...make improvements as I go...but I get what you are saying.

I have met a few guys here in Atlanta area that race vintage Bikes... A Dean Middleton and Jack Houman. Both seem like great guys and for hands on help and advice I will be seeking their expertise.

Thanks for the Tip on the bars Sir

Those bars and drag bars would both be about what you seem like you are going for. If you haven't yet, check out just some clip ons and some clubmans. All are awesome bars. Clubmans are what I currently have and love them so far.

Yeah I have thought about clubmans. Clip ons I feel are a little too low and would have me bent over more so than I want. I want them to be a little lower but not clip on low. I have seen the "european" bars as well and they are a little lower. might look into those too

Yea those would be good too. The clip ons are a lot lower than clubmans. My clubmans are pretty comfortable to me but I am also used to crouch rockets.
