New guy from WI

Hey everyone!

I've been lurking here for a while but finally made an account. My name is Mike, I'm 18 years old, and I live in Milwaukee, WI. I don't have a bike yet, but I will be getting a free bike soon. It's a CL360 that hasn't run in a several years and is partially dissembled. From what I hear, it needs some major love before it sees the road again. I haven't looked at it yet but any free bike is a good bike. At least it comes with a spare engine in case I find the current one is seized up or something. This will be my first motorcycle build, and my first motorcycle in general. I used to race dirt bikes from age 7 to 12 but quit after a 4wheeler accident. A couple months back I found a guys CB750 build and it got me interested again. I know a good bit about cars, but this whole bike thing is new to me so you can expect a lot of questions from me.

Hey man welcome, im recently back on the board as i resumed my cl360 project. I hate to pounce on you but i need an oil pump drive gear. Its about a 3 in gear about a 1/4 thinkness that runs off of the crank. If you have two motors and the gears are good on both i would love the opportunity to buy one of the good ones from you. Now that, thats over with, good luck and post pics, we love pics.

PM me if u wanna let go of the gear

Welcome man! Lets get some pics up here once you have possesion of that beast! Theres a few really cool CL builds goin on here. Bith cafe, and bobber style! Let me know if I can be of any help!

I probably won't be getting the parts for a couple weeks because everything is still about an hour and a half away and the weather has been really crappy lately. Yesterday it was -27*F with the windchill and today isn't much better at -7*F. The place the bike is at also got 16" of snow yesterday so I'm hesitant to drive that far with a trailer that could possibly slide around when I get on the brakes and jack knife itself. If I can find out what exactly the part is and I have two of them I'll let you know.

I'm probably going to be going more of the the cafe route. I found this bike in a google search and love the way it looks. Since I hate making exact copies of other bikes, I'll probably change up the color scheme, make a different seat and look for a little more squared off gas tank.
