New to the board, glad to notice some of ya are from the Cleveland area. I'm currently looking for a bike, hopefully something in running or near running condition. Kinda partial to Honda CB's, would love to have a European but my budget is pretty lite-weight. If anyone is in the know of a bike for sale please post up!

Hey Ron, Welcome. Check out the "Stuff you've bought or found for sale somewhere else" on a regular basis for bikes. Most come from Craigslist or Kijiji.

Alsy try out "Stuff You're Selling."

Keep in mind there are peole on here from just about everywhere and the site is based out of Toronto, so there may be some travel involved.

;D

Look for a Yamaha Seca (XJ650R if possible) if you like a European look. Stock they look good and make a good looking cafe. Even though they are Japanese, they are a true European roadrace bike. They were very popular in Europe which is what propted Yamaha to sell them here. Didn't sell that well in America, but did very well in the land of Trumps, Beezers, Beemers, MVs, Laverdas, etc. Four cylinder transverse, shaft drive (perfected to prevent rising on accel) and a honking EIGHT inch headlight!

Check our Craigslist daily. I see worthy candidates at least 5-6 times a week. What's your price range? I know a guy who's got a number of 70's-early 80's bikes for sale in Euclid.

Thanks for the tip on the Yamaha, I'll look into that for sure! I'm not trying to spend over $1,000 but will for something I truely like. You guys think I need to keep saving? I'm thinkin' thats enough to get started with my first rig. Trolling Craigslist daily, see some stuff here and there. What kinda bikes does your friend have in Euclid TenTwelve?

The 2 best right now I think are a CB(unsure of size) and a XS750. He's got others but those 2 stand out.

TenTwelve, can you get some more info on the CB? Size, Year, Condition, Title Status, Price etc. I'm very interested. Thanks!

WOW! Saw that CB750 on Craigslist a while ago, figured it sold for sure. I'll get in touch with him, thanks.

Welcome to the site. What part of town are you in? I'm in Westlake. I have a 76 CB750 F that you might be interested in.

Here's a post about the bike: http://dotheton.com/index.php?topic=2128.0

I've gone back and forth on whether or not I want to sell it, but I've got three bikes right now and I need space. If you're interested, we can work on the price. You're welcome to come and see it anytime. Also, I've gained a lot of knowledge about these bikes, and would be more than happy to help you out with a project. Again, welcome to the board.

BTW, are you a GTI owner? I see a 'fast' in your avatar.

Kuyarico, one nice bike you have there. You don't have the spoked wheels for it do you? I personally like spoked wheels as opposed to mags. To be honest the price you mentioned in that thread is above my budget at the moment. Feel free to email me if you'd like to discuss what price you would take for the bike.

edit: Yeah I'm quite the VW fan. Currently drive a 2007 4 door GTI, have had a handfull of VW's in the past, girlfriend and I visited Wolfsberg while were in Germany this past summer, it was really cool.

PM sent.
I've had a lot of VW's. First car was a 83 Rabbit GTI. I also had an 84, a 81 Audi 4000 Quattro, a 03 GTI. But I currently have an 06 Passat. I just needed a bigger car. I love the 4 Door GTI's. Good choice.

Cool... His name is Harold and he's a very cool guy. Him and I met when I was trying to trade one of my cars for a bike and he really wanted the car but I really didn't want any of the bikes he had at the time. He usually gets new stuff but, he may of cut back because it's winter and I think he's moving back down South.

Yeah I actually spoke to Harold today, seems to be a nice guy. Hopefully I can work somethin out with him and get some wheels under me.

Did you see the picture of his garage? He's got a lot of bikes.

Yeah I've visited both his daughters garage and his rented space. :) He actually lives in an apartment downtown. ;D

Here's 2 CB 750's in Akron fairly cheap. I'm sure you could talk him down.

..and a KZ400 in Youngstown. I had one and it's a cool little bike that you can still get parts for unlike my TX500. lol

Grabbing the pair in Youngstown would be a fun build, I think it would be over my head though. Ideally I'm looking for something that is running so I can disect it from a working status. ha I'm just a couple bills short of pickin somethin up right away. Pay checks always seem to be farther away when your waiting on the cash!
