New ^%$#ing 360 project. I'm a noob I need help.

JonnyLong

THIS, is what god looks like.
Check it out,

I picked up this 360 and I can not get it to start. I'm BRAND NEW to this bike havent been able to ride it since I bought it due to weather.

I can not Kick start it and the battery is to dead to use the electric start button.

When I have the key in the ON position and I try kicking it... (try means kicking until my leg hurts)

she seems to try and start on the 20th or 25th kick. but almost as soon as it sounds like she is about to start she dies....

then I start the kick-a-thon. This continues to happen and I dont understand why she will not start.

I know that with the clutch it it will not start and it needs to be in netrual...

It seems to be getting gas and d it has new plugs.
I'm not sure what I need to do to begin.

Battery & Repair Manual Ordered.

Help if you can.
Thanks!

I wouldn't be surprised if you problem is the dead battery. Charge up that one or get a new one (better idea) and it may surprise you. Sounds like your kicking is managing to get just enough juice into the system to get it to kinna' fire then that effort uses up everything and you start over.

I don't want to be stuck using the electric starter. Its about a quarter inch above the chain call it the finger grinder... by the previous owners brother... lol he showed me the scar

What can I do to make this a 3 kick cold start bike? even five.... After I get some ice on my leg.
I can get right on this fix. It's Almost summer and I have to get her ready and willing. thanks again for the help so far.

The battery is probably toast, and then you are probably flooding it trying to kick it that many times. Pull your plugs, let them dry, and replace the battery. It sounds like you aren't getting spark at some point, or it's flooded, or both. That's my $.02.

yep... check your battery. with the ignition off it should have around 12.3-12.7 volts. I'll bet you've got a bad battery as well...

Nice! Thanks for the help. It should be around 20 degrees out this weekend. I hope I'm ready to ride!

8) THANKS+++

I hope it is just a battery I ordered one. I'll keep things posted...

Thought I was going to have to spend 202 Plus in the first day. LOL

If you're wanting to being able to kick start (even with a dead battery), then you're going to need to make some changes.

First, you're going to need to wire a capacitor in the 15,000-25,000 uF range (I can't remember if this is meant to be before, after, or parallel to the battery... anyone?). You can actually remove the battery if you want to go kick-start only.

Next, you'll need to change the wiring so that your headlight and tail light don't come on when you have the ignition key on. You'll probably also want to wire a switch in place so that they DO come on at all.

After that, you're probably still looking at 4 or 5 kicks to get enough of a charge into the capacitor for it to run the coils.

Uh-hmmmm...

Just a heads up, if you want to be a real biker you can no longer use these " 8) "

They diminish the they tough guy factor by a minimum of 5

When the battery gets Here, we will see if thats the problem. tonight I'm going to replace the fule filter and lines. run some heet through it.
