New Member from KC Missouri: 82' KZ440 getting Cafe'd

M.B Co

Coast to Coast
On several other forums also, thought I would join another. Not many doing anything to these old KZ's. So trying to spread as much info around and what my plans are.

Plan:
-Simple minded budget friendly restoration with modern subtle attention to detail touches
-Lots of paint, cleaning, cutting, maintenance items etc...

I've done a few random things before the tear down. But the list goes on, but that will be in the build thread. I'll just start with before & after pictures and current the current stage.

How it sits now:

Engine out, cleaned, all new seals. Ready for lots of polishing, paint small details

Mixing random parts from other bikes and universal parts from the aftermarket. Few items will be custom made.

Not sure what to do with the seat and rear frame section. Going to be some work with the LTD frame due to the step up. Got a few plans, just need to play with it a little.

Thanks. This forum is sick, much better than some others. The amount of killer bikes and talent here is great.
