Hi all,
i'm Will from NH. Ive been lurking this site for awhile and picked up my first major, major project a little while ago: a 1987 Kawasaki ZX750F. Yes, I know, not the typical cafe. But my goal with this project was to build something with 'modern' performance and 'vintage' looks. I'm being very generous with both of those words, but hopefully it'll turn out to be a cool cafe-inspired racer nonetheless. And for $200, why not!
So for a little introduction of myself: Im 25 and have been working on machines my whole life. First it was bikes, then cars and now motorcycles. Everything I've owned, I've made my own; But this will be my first huge, motor out, fork swapped, motorcycle project. I wanted something to keep me entertained and allow me to learn more skills (fiberglass, tig welding and hopefully some machining as well).
Here are a couple pics, one of a generic ZX750, the other, of my bike when I got it running. I swear I took some pics of it when I brought it home, but I cant seem to find them: imagine the stock photo, add 20lbs of dirt and grime and trash all the plastics.
By the way, like my gastank, wiring harness and throttle control? All will be addressed in time, but I didnt want to invest anymore until I was sure this motor was a solid basis for the build.
Ill post up a build thread as well to chronicle my progress of the repair and customization.
Thanks for looking,
Will
