Hi, my name is Rob. I am a Chop Cult and Jockey Journal member, but was told that this is a great forum for the Toronto cafe racer crowd. I am new to the city, and will be here for the year attending the Army Staff College. I brought my XS cafe racer with me (pics below). I am also into vintage choppers, and have a 1953 Panhead chopper for those who are interested.
At any rate, here is my cafe. 1978 XS650 frame and engine, FZR600 forks and brakes (I think), Mikuni carbs, Benelli tank, cafe seat. A bit of a rat bike, but I would be very interested in getting together for rides, as well as learning about local shops.
Yes, it originally had the standard yellow Benelli tank, and a hideous square-profile whitewall tire (and a mismatched axle as well). Still needs some sorting out, but I have some winter plans for it. In the meantime, it is a fun little runaround bike.
BTW, here is my Panhead, for those that are interested (I know it probably isn't most people's thing over here):
Nice panhead! you'll be surprised how many members here are bike guys, a nice bike is a nice bike. I personally like a lot of styles of bikes. I hope to someday own many bikes, one for each mood that strikes me. Some guys here just like cafe's and that's cool but most of us guys and girls just like to ride and wrench on any and all brands and styles.
