New member. got some extra time to browse around due to the lockdown. Im from south africa. The vintage look, cafe racer style, classic look is not big here. Spoke to a dealer about it and they mentioned the market isnt that great. So my first bike I bought was a suzuki rgt 125 2 stroke. The guy i bought it from sold me a dud in that engine was messed up and bike had license issues. I decided to take my losses and sell as spares.
Next up after saving up a bit I bought another 125cc but this time from a dealer. Still being new to riding bikes and learning. Bike is SYM T2 similar to this in the photo
Iv stripped the fairings on the sides and removed the passenger pegs and the naked look has given me an idea to keep the big and turn it into cafe racer project.
il most likely start a build thread on it, and show the community what it looks like with some of that fairings sripped off. But im 2 minded and some people are mentioning that SYM bikes are not worth the cash to spend on
Maybe just old fashioned but I would think it to your advantage to know how to ride well and have some miles under your belt before worrying about being stylish. Have you got proper riding gear yet?

yep most likely il look into getting more miles first in before doing major changes. Im just 2minded on whether il keep this bike as a project if its worth it or sell it and get something else at a later stage. I need to get new gear. most of hand me downs. only helmet is new.

I understand what you are saying about 2minded, but if you are enjoying your bike who's to say it "isn't worth it?" I've seen lots of real derelicts pictured on Page 1 of a build that certainly weren't worth much more than scrap value and by the time you read to Page XX or even Page XXX there's something very nice that the builder is proud of and gets enjoyment out of. Usually the end product isn't worth the time and money that was invested in it but it's your time, money, blood, sweat, and tears so spend them on what ever you want and don't look back! Good luck and have fun!
