I spent last night putting the motor back together and installing my cam tensioner from sparckmoto. (Thanks!!). I woulda finished putting it together but some crappy ebay seller took over a week to ship a part from 200 miles away.
Did some figuring on components and ordered rearsets and rear hoop and clipons. . Nothing too much exciting, just an update.
Fellow over in your part of the world is building a Hansen replica 450. I've always drooled over them, I will build one before I'm 50. Tanks and what not could possibly be made to fit a 360 frame.

Might think about doing some of the engine oil mods that PJ and others have worked out. That cam can use all the oil it can get and while you have it open its pretty easy to do.
Yeah those are great too., I love the look. Since the sheet metal is simple and I'll never find any for sale and would feel terrible about cutting it up I will just build the bodywork. Gonna look a lot like those though.
Made a little progress tonight in the shop. I installed the dime city cycles seat hoop, put on the clipons and mocked up rearset position. It's starting to look a little like the 1965 Honda 4RC146 gp race bike that I am loosely basing it on.
Spent my weekly night in the shop building and tacking brackets for my rearsets. Mig welding off generator power really sucks. I need a permanent shop.
With that rearset position, you may end up riding around looking like this guy.
Cant say how comfortable he is...but I bet he dont ride much more than a 1/4 mile, without a break.
Im 6ft tall and even using the rear peg mounts is a little too high and too far back for me. I would eventually like to move mine down and forward a couple inches.
Subscribed. Looking good. I second the oil mods. They make a huge difference. If the number plate doesn't have the punches, you should install the CJ oil pickup too, for side stand idle. I also recommend getting CB500 clutch springs.
Thank you for taking the time to make a drawing. I appreciate the feedback. I do realize they are high, but I have raced thousands of miles on small gp bikes and this is a position very comfortable to me.

Ok, I was looking at it from my own veiw point. With my 48 yr old worn out knees, that position would put me in the hospital.
Not to mention at 430 this morning I was pretty cranky and bored.
