i was tinking of using that same design (background of the poster) on my gauges, but it was going to be the only yellow on the bike. i saw your thread. did you have any problem with your foam coming unglued at the seams? the bike is still for my neighbor. i hope to have it finished by the 27th so he can ride it to daytona.

Yeah, a few of my seams delaminated. I used 3M super77 spray contact cement to glue them together. In some of the delaminated seams, I injected some thinned out Elmers yellow glue in and clamped together. The others I just taped closed.

here's a couple of pics. As usual i painted the frame something other than black. the tank is going to be silver with either a blue or black strip down the middle. anybody have some coils lying around they don't need. i'm willing to trade some left over parts for them. how about the long bolt that goes through the air boxes or the filter rubbers? i also have some polished brake junctions for the 550/750. trying to save a trip to the junk yard.

i was quoted 11.50 on the shipping for the bar, but its because my box for it was crazy huge.... i have a box from work that will be great for it, btw, you also need the air box bolt? ill chuck that in too, if i find it

thanks, but i don't need the air box bolt. i was going to trade mine for parts if someone needed it. i should have worded it better. let me know what the total is and i'll paypal you the money. thanks for everyone that helped out.
zimm, i'll definatley take you up on the coils if you don't need them.

I'm subscribing to this thread. I had lost hope in people but it seems there are still some decent people out there. Big thumbs up to you ;D

Nice work man! Are you going to make a female mould for the tank? How are you going to bont the upper part of the tank with the lower part?

Finally, did you hand shape that foam or did you CNC it?

--Thanks, Chris

Where are you located? I'd be happy to donate a pair of headlight brackets to your project in exchange for some pics of you guys wearing some Dropbars shirts in Daytona :)

i hadn't planned on making a mold. it's kinda nice thinking there will never be another exactly like it, it makes it more personal i guess. . the upper is already bonded to the bottom, thats the brown strip around the lower edge. i used resin with mico filler to thicken it up to a gel-like consistancey. it also keeps the resin from shrinking. i hand formed the foam after i rough shaped it with a hot wire cutter.
