New ST ace 50cc

I bought I second hand ace 50cc with 180km. The old owner was bored with it and wanted something more powerful. I did some research on some posts here and found out that there is a restrictor somewhere in the motorcicle that doesnt let it pass 45/50 km/h. I did take the manifold out and the carbutator and found nothing there restricting the passage. The only thing I took out was a little valve in the intake manifold that was attached to a tube with a screw in the end. Is that the resctrictor?

I don't know for sure, but is it possible the previous owner removed the restrictor already?

I wouldn't have thought a 50cc motor would need restricting!

My 'Ace' experience is limited to the 250, but I will see if I have any information on the 50 amongst my files.

Here in Portugal thay have restrictions laws which basically mandates that every new 50cc motorcicle can't pass the 45 km/h limit. In my experience running flat out in a straight line my ace wont do more then 50km/h

Yamaha used to restrict the PW 50 by putting a restrictive washer in the exhaust port. You just had to unbolt the exhaust, remove the washer and bolt it back up. A 5 minute job. Have you checked the exhaust?

I did remove the exaust but the manufacter welded many things in the interior I assume to be more silent. It could also be restricting but I find odd that the motorcicle can reach 45km/h and suddently doenst pass that, only in down hill
