I have a CB750 and one of my ignition coil wires got destroyed. Anyone have any experience swapping out a wire on stock ignition coils? Can it be done, or would it be easier to just suck it up and buy a new coil with wires?
If you weed through the posts within "Tips and Tricks" on the SOHC4.net forum you'll find a thread on this....
Basically what guys have been doing is cutting the wire about half an inch away from the coil and then push a 2 inch finish nail halfway in. Push the other half into your new wire and seal it all off with some RTV sealant.
I did it myself, but have yet to startup my bike or test the continuity of my coils.
Quite a few guys did it and all claim that their bike now runs much better then it did originally.
