next time you are exasperated by answering the same questions again

Well... you were on reddit. Not the best place to meet intelligent people, let alone intelligent bikers specifically. I don't care for that website. Still, this guy had to be the most retarded of the Internet's denizens.

Reddit is just like any other place on the internet. Full of really interesting and intelligent as well as stupid and unbelievably thick people. Overall I enjoy it.

On the other hand as beginner in the field of modified two wheelers, feel like less of an idiot now thanks to that redditor.

That subreddit (r/motorcycles) was a great forum a couple of years ago. Now it's almost entirely teenagers and people complaining about teenagers. Makes for boring reading.

That's what I'm saying. Great concept taken to the dumpster by a poor community. Happens on websites and video games (and now motorcycles, thanks to scrubs my age)

Where is the redemption?!

Well I'm just glad that you guys (I mean more experienced, knowledgeable users) at DTT didn't turn out to be really uptight, jaded and egotistical. Ive asked some pretty stupid questions in my short time already without being called any names :D

Maybe I'll just go back to lurking.

I have a theory on how this came about. He was probably thinking to himself one day...
Dumbass: Hey let me see if I can make some knee dents in the tank. Oh shit I fucked that up. I'll just toss the tank and make something out of some PVC I have laying around from when I fucked up the kitchen sink.

Dumbass: Hey let me see if I can modify these foot pegs to make them look cooler. Oh shit I fucked that up! I'll just toss them and put my feet on the engine. They were really heavy anyway. I'll bet I get 125 mpg now.

Dumbass: Hey let me tinker around with the carbs. Oh shit I fucked that up! I'll just glue back together with this JB Weld stuff I had laying around from when I replaced my oil drain plug on my truck.

Dumbass: Hey let me try and make a neat cafe style seat. Oh shit I fucked that up too. Well I don't have anything I can use as a seat... ah fuck it, seats are overrated. My ass will be as strong as vise in a 3 weeks.

Dumbass: Damn I am really handy with shit. I should post up my experiences on a blog. Everyone will think I'm a genius.

The Ducati dealership I once worked at sold a 900ss to a guy who called back the next day and asked how many cylinders it had, he was distraught because his friends told him that their sportbikes had more than his and wanted to know if it was true.

No offense to Ducati owners but in my experience a lot of Ducati guys I've met have bought one because 'Ducatis are the best' and 'motorcycles are cool'. While those two statements might be true, that's all they really know about motorcycles.

One of my former co-workers went from a Honda Ascot 500 to a Ducati (can't remember the displacement) and was very distressed over the "broken" sounding clutch... and he'd been riding since the 1970s. Way too many "crank sodas" (Rockstars)...

Holy Crap! I thought I have done some stupid shit in my time but this guy takes the cake. Do you think we can get a petition together to ensure this guy doesn't procreate? Unfortunately I know a few people who are almost as idiotic.

Don't worry. The lack of a seat and no pegs has likely blue balled him to impotancy by now..

I would not recommend buying a newer Ducati to anyone unless they can get one very cheaply used and are a mechanic and can work on it themselves.

Hondas are much better bikes all around in my opinion. Ducatis are like Harleys, you are paying for the name, and you will keep on paying as it needs work done and parts. Rich or ignorant men's toys for the most part. Even the vintage Ducatis are ridiculously priced because rich guys are into them and have driven the price of the bikes and parts way up, again a vintage Honda is a better machine, it was back in the day too.

Not only does he do the most unheard of things to a motorcycle, he then forgets to drink water and gets heat stroke. By far my favorite part.
