No go after 3/4 throttle??

You may be happy with the way you bike runs, but, let me put this FACT to everyone who runs open headers. (nothing personal, just general information)
Harley Davidson 'Sportster' LOOSES 8 BHP with drag pipes.
Pipes only work at an rpm the stock engine isn't capable of turning.

Modifies engines turning high rpm with drag pipes have a very narrow powerband (500~1,000rpm)
This has been known for at least 60 yrs, probably longer but I haven't read everything (first 'tuned length' exhaust system was built in the 1860's and tripled power output of engine)

I don't know your experience level, but, if your happy with bike it's all good.

PS, the only speeding ticket I ever got was because cops heard me coming, not much traffic/ background noise at 2:00am
I've always had quiet bikes since then ;)
 
i think we were all just trying to help in response to your first post, no harm intended..
i see that you tuned it a bit, rad!, glad you could make it work, i think for the lower rpm range you should mess with you idle jets.

Chill out dude.

You acknowledge that those mods have an adverse effect on performance, but you argue with the word "problems". I guess you don't see it as a problem, but as a challenge.

You have managed to make them less of a problem and are happy with that, and that's fine with me. Really though it's like telling people that you cut off a hand and here's how you dealt with it. Kudos for making the most of a bad situation, but maybe other people might like to learn that it really is a "problem" and it's avoidable.

I don't think anyone commented on your bike in a positive, or in a negative way.

You are welcome here, but after a massive 8 posts you want to slag off at people . That's probably not a good way to win friends and influence people. Just saying........
 
while i usually try to remain neutral and peaceful in situations like this, i agree with Teazer, your getting upset over something not worth getting upset about... no one here has said anything that sounds even a hint of offensive toward you dude.
 
im not upset at all and appreciate those who have contributed useful info here. i was aware the problems created with mods that i made, i simply looked for advice then posted what i had done to hopefully help some out, as this forum has done for me. Agree with it or not people choose to modify there bikes in many ways. My choices may not be the best or most popular but i chose to and had read many that had done similar. The only reason i posted was to share my results not to make any outrageous or dumb claims or say its the smartest.
and cant leave you out teazer! glad post count means so much to you. Forgot this was Highschool and post count = popularity, which in turn means your cool and know all right and we should look up to you. Love ya, relax a little bit behind that computer!
 
High post count simply means I spend way too much time on here. No more. No less.

edit: I'm fortunate that I'm self employed & do much of my work on a PC in my home "office" and that allows me to take breaks in a way that people that get paid don't often get away with.

High school.... Damn. I lost count of the decades since I left high school and as for being cool, I never did care about that silly shit and not about to change now. ;D

Why you are fixated on me is beyond me.
