No spark from spark wires...

Why do you think the wires need to be replaced? Have you checked all the wiring and determined that there's a break in one of them or is this a first step?

youir engine is a 360 degree firing order,,,,single pick up,,,and single double coil........any 3(+-)ohm coil will replace it........youi can bypass the box to check it

Yes, the wires are corroded a their protective covering basically falls off on its own. Also I tried to see if there was any spark when I would try to start the engine and nothing. Any ideas?

OMG, I have the same problem as you do.
I just bought a 78 400tii without a working battery and I got a replaced battery. The light are turning on but as I press the start button putting the engine cut off to run, NOTHING is happening. not even a click. So what I thought was to see if the spark plugs were a problem, so I tested and no spark occured. I bought a new set of spark, and it is still not sparking. What would be the problem. It is so quite when I press the start button.

Should take all the wiring and see if there are any defects?

Any ideas?

my buddy got a free bike last year(82 GS 650) it was sitting outside since 1996.....His Wires were good but the ends had corroded and were green (to check unplug the spark plug and spin the head it should thread right off)....HE HAD NO SPARK!!!.....almost bought new ones...... Ended up cutting the ends off ........Spent $30 on carb rubbers and stainless screws, $50 on a battery.....Thing fired right up....New gas and days and days of troubleshooting/carb fiddling...but it did Fire Right Up

For a 78 cb400t did these come as a whole unit? Or is there a way to remove the cables from the coil pack?
Iirc, you have to buy another coilpack, the wire aren't removable from the coil.

Dude, really?! You do realize that the sparkplugs have nothing to do with the starter, right? Sparkplugs won't spark unless the motor is spinning.
I'd check with the starter solenoid first. Jump the two terminals on it, if the starter turns over, you've found your problem ;)
