Thought I snagged a good deal when I came across a kijiji ad for a Yamaha RD350 basket case. The ad stated there was 3 engines in different states and it had a cool looking tracker seat on it and enough parts to build a complete bike plus spares. Emailed the guy the day after it was posted and told him I'd take it, but wouldn't be able to pick it up until sunday (my only day off). I sent him an email today to confirm he was gonna be home and for an address.

This is the email I came home to tonight...

"There is something strange going on here. Didn't you just come here already?"

Directly followed by this one...

"I am afraid I have mistaken a gentleman who came today for the rd who
said he was from the Lucknow area. I sincerely apologize as I am
assuming now that he was not you. I am new to this kijiji bit and have
had an overwhelming response thus I see the importance of keeping
track of people's names and numbers. Sorry."

Again, noooooooo!

PS: Anyone in the Lucknow area just score an RD project? Ya bastard! haha.

Yeah right that bastard probably sold it for more then what you and him agreed. This happened to me two weeks ago, saw a camera lens that I wanted on craigslist, seller wanted 1500, I offered 1300 cash and he accepted it was even going to delivery it to. Next day he emails me he couldn't because it has snowed but in two days he will come, next day he sent me an email that as he was packaging the lens he dropped it was unsellable, right away I knew he sold it because he never got back to me when I asked for pictures of the damage. Anyway it's not like if I needed the lens, but he was going to have a surprise when i was going to pay him 1300 dollars in singles. When i went to bank and withdrew the money, the at the teller was like why do you need all those singles and I told him I was going to a night club.

Nah, I don't think he would have sold it for any more. He was asking $300 and I was just gonna give him the $300 for it. Might have haggled a bit when I got there if it was in really rough shape, but I would have been comfortable giving him the $300.
