Motobi 750 Sei, Soon to be a cafe racer
Hello to all of you out there.

This is my first posting here, and as a newbie I will present myself.
I live in Norway, and have recently bought a Motobi 750 Sei from 1976.
This is a 6 cylinder Italian bike, similar to the Benelli 750 Sei.

Of the 6 brothers who started Benelli, one of them left the company and formed Motobi.
Only about 250 built, all for the spanish market, and if you search the internet, the only one you will find is mine.
It's a Rebadged Benelli with some changes.

The difference between a Benelli 750 Sei and a Motobi 750 Sei is as follows:

Benelli have double discs in front and drum rear brakes. Motobi has triple Brembo discs
Benelli have regular shocks, Motobi has Marzocchi gas shocks
Benelli have 6 to 6 exhaust, Motobi has 6 to 1 exhaust from Marving
Benelli have spoke wheels, but Motobi has cast wheels from Recmo
And finally, the seat is different.

As you can believe, some of the original parts for this one is almost impossible to find. The experts say that it doesn't exist, but it does. Mine came from Spain.

And it's gonna be a rare cafe racer when I'm done.
Here is some pics: (If the upload worked)

that is a great looking bike and some pretty cool history to go with it which is why I'm confused you want to start hacking away.

You should totally keep that how it is, looks beautiful already.

Will keep all the original parts, so it can be restored later on.

I have an MT-01 that I use on daily basis, so this is just a hobby-project for the winter.

I think something like this looks nice... ;D And my MT-01 on bottom pic

And the sound of this six-cylinder:

And for those who are afraid of me ruining the bike:

No welding, or cutting in the frame. :D

I would maybe change the gauges and go with some bar-end mirrors. That thing is a really nice looking bike as it sits. Doesnt need alot. But, if your plan is to keep the stocker stuff and not cut the frame. Than I say have fun with her! Welcome.
PS just saw the vid I wish mine sounded as sweet!

That's a lovely bike. How is it to kickstart? Electric "foot" as well?
The wheels are great. Are they magnesium?

I think anything you can do to help show its Italian heritage is a good thing. Staying true to the original design is one way to do that. Otherwise it looks like just another Japanese cafe bike. Maybe a fairing like the benelli 900s had?

It's easy to kickstart. Mechanical kick in addition to the electric starter.
And the wheels.. I think it's magnesium, but I'm not quite sure.

Saw a quick glance at the pics before reading and thought "wow a Benelli!" then read your post.
AWESOME! Learned something new today!
