Hello friends,
Recently rebuilt the starter motor (just brushes, shims, o-ring kit) and had some trouble starting it after running the bike for a bit. Just finished replacing the rear valve cover gaskets today and the problem persisted. So I pull off the starter motor to double check my work and oil starts pouring out of the case (didn't happen the first time) and out of the starter itself. Does anyone know what usually causes this kind of cataclysm or any way to fix it? Any advice would be appreciated. Just bear in mind before you loose a barrage of pejoratives that failure is punishment enough.
Regards,
-Sam
