Oil Pipe Removal

Any one know how they are supposed to be removed? Trying to remove my cam chain so I can clean and paint the upper engine case but its held captive by this small oil tube. Looks to be friction fit but it won't budge. Tried a bit of heat with no luck. May have to just leave it in place and deal with it, but figured I'd ask anyway.

This is on a '78 XL250s.

Is it threaded internally? I've seen some that are but fitted backwards so threads are on the inside. Makes removing really difficult

I don't think so but will certainly check. I have the case cleaned and ready for paint now anyway, but will check. Thanks.

it just pushes in, use more heat, more force :D
run some threads into it with a tap, then pull it out if need be
heat at the same time job done

Are you sure? I seem to remember one motor where is was screwed in, problem is, too many motors, not enough notes, it may not have been a Honda I'm thinking about, they tend to 'blur' after the first few hundred ::)

No threads that I could see PJ. I ended up just leaving it there, got the upper and lower cases painted yesterday. I did ensure that it was free and clear before painting though.
