Oils aint Oils - New Ace Owner

Hey dudes,

New Ace owner here (or soon to be..), have a bike on order which should be here next week!

So what oil has everyone been using? I own a muscle car which I run synthetic oil in, anyone had much luck using low weight synthetic oils in their ACE? (synth Oils do tend to add some HP generally, albeit pretty minimal).

Also what did everyone else use to block up the hole on the top of the carb when they add the blanking plate? Just a small screw or did anyone bother with some kind of metal putty?

Also I've heard a few negative things about the blue box CDI from OORacing, anyone found the Casoli Moto CDI any better?

No doubt I'll be asking a lot of dumb questions on the forum in the future!

Good to meet you all

I use motul 10 w 50 semi synth. Makes your rocker gear noisy. On the up side my motor is ckean

From what I can gather, you should use 20w50 synthetic. I've changed two times using Castrol Actevo 4-stroke 20w50. Not that pricey, 129 swedish for a litre, that's about 10 GBP.

About the OOR blue Cdi, my Ace 50 with 70cc kit runs like crap with their box. Ok on flat ground but with some misfire. Under load, like up the ramps in my garage it's totally sh*t!

Change the fork oil to a known quality.
i've found 12.5w engine oil works for me.
15 was a little to fine and 10 a little to heavy. I use a 50/50 mix to get 12.5
