Opinions for two-up seat idea

So i just picked up a KZ550 that i plan to transform into a cafe bike for riding around college and such. I love the solo seat look with the tank matched hump but would like to have the ability to have someone ride with me. My idea was to make the hump on the back able to flip up and use it as storage for registration and some tools as opposed to the electrical system. What is your guys take on this or does anybody have any other trick ideas for two-up seat?

triumph thruxton has a seat kind of like your describing. You remove the cover when you have a passenger.

I like the 2 up racer seats for nortons.

A cowl would be your best bet, as noted above.

Buell did something like that about a decade ago. Maybe try to find one of those, and get some ideas of how to make one.

I have kz750 81 and i want do the same transformation.
I'll do a brat style seat two place (like the picture but more thick) with completely amovible tail section like your sketch.

I hope to finish (and start it) it before autumn. If you see another ideas, post it here please!

another idea i had was to make something similar to a modern sport bike seat since my thank is square-ish i though i could make a flat top bump and put a pad on it

something like this, with the top inch or so pad and in a vinyl that matched the color of the bike which im planning on painting white
