Hey guys, found a pretty nice unmolested '76 CB200 locally on craigslist. Looks to be well kept and original. What are your opinions on that particular bike for a first time Cafe Project. Don't plan on any highway use, just a nice town cruiser. I'm also 5'11 175lbs.

Also what would be a fair price for one? he's asking 2k and i'm not really looking to spend that on a little 200. Really more interested in a 350/360 or a 400 but would like to hear some of your opinions

thanks guys

here's a link to the craigslist if anyones interested

While that's a great little bike (minus the small flaws), it's not worth the asking price IF you are gonna make a cafe out of it. Should be able to find a beat up 350 or 360 for around $500

thanks for the info, will just keep my eyes open for a nice little 350 or 360 although they seem to be a rare commodity down here in south florida )-:

I agree with rich, that is too much for a 200 if you are gonna hack it up... if you were going to lovingly restore it, it might be worth the 2k, but that seems pretty high.

The little Cb's are the same way here in CA, rarer by the day, and people are starting to get the balls to ask for 2-3k for a cb350

Just keep your eyes pealed on CL for a deal, if you check back every day you should be able to find a deal. I probably looked for over a year for my cb350 that i have now, and I have been on the lookout for a xs650 for the better part of the last 2yrs.

2K for a CB200 sounds like a heck of a lot of cash to me. I love small bikes, but only when they come with small prices. For 2K you could get a more "size appropriate" bike without going overboard and have cash left to tart it up and customize it.

Of course you do want to get a runner in good condition with a title, but it doesn't have to be in perfect cosmetic condition.

yeah, i would never pay that was gonna offer alot less. Seems all the people with bikes down here in Florida are asking huge prices.

I did find two "good" condition '74 cb360s. What is a fair price to offer? each are asking 2,000 and 2,200. I just emailed a offer of 1,000. Too high? too low? what should i settle on?
