Hi..There's a 1978 KZ 750 I wanna buy- 500 bucks - wirings been dismantled - bolts in a bucket 500 bucks whatcha reckon? I'm not great mechanically but you've got learn on something

$500 is waaaay too much money for a basket case like that. $150 MAX, IMO. Putting that bike together would be a challenge for a good mechanic with lots of experience. As a first project, I would predict that you would get frustrated and give up long before you got the bike running.

I recently bought an '80 Yamaha XS650 Special for $400. The bike was complete and assembled. I put gas in the tank, jumped it and it started! All it really needs is carburetor cleaning, and general cleaning and polishing to be a running, rideable bike.

I think you need to keep looking. There are much better deals out there.

if its your first build DO NOT start on a basket case, build a couple first then if you feel the need buy a basket case, i bought one before , never again, you learn so much taking apart a complete bike that you have had running, where everything goes etc.

that a great price for a xs there getting harder and harder to find cheap in any condition

Op
I would stay away from a basket case the only parts you will be missing will cost a ton and 500 is way to much
