"over-rev" at about 6200 rpm

Born to lose, destined to fail.
I'm going to try to explain this as best I can, but I can't promise my lack of correct terminology won't make it more confusing.

72 CL350 running Motul 10/40 (normal, non synth) she runs pretty good, starts first kick, etc. At high rpms (doesn't seem to matter what gears) after about 6200 rpm she "over-revs" RPMs keep going up but no power to the wheel. Haven't had it all the way maxed out yet to see if it does it in 5th also, but 1-4 it does.

Only started doing it in the past few rides. Thought it might be the synth oil, so I changed back to normal.

Clutch cable too tight? Clutch plates? Left over synth got her over lubed? I'm an ignorant bastard and I poked it with a screwdriver while chanting ancient rites from the isle of man? Jetting?

Thanks!

Clutch slippage. Synthetic will be a contributing factor, but make sure the tension on the clutch lever is correct. When measure at the end of the clutch lever, there should be a good 1" of free play before you feel any tension on the lever.

Thanks Son, I've got work all weekend. Won't be able to test until Monday or Tuesday.
