Here's a few pics of "Sandie". (My 4 y/o daughter helped me name her.)
I picked her up in June 2011 as a gift from my in-laws. They purchased it off a craigslist ad I saw. It did not have a title, there were lots of major dents, broken parts, and rust! Lots of work. Yes, and I was able to obtain a title.
Beginning:
During the tear down:
The right cylinder was stuck due to rust, despite soaking in PB Blaster for well over a week. I used a 3-lbs sledge hammer and a 1" diameter steel pipe to pound it out. I had the cylinders bored over .50.
The reason I used a steel pipe was that the steel punch didn't work...as you can see!
Some of the scoring in the right cylinder prior to it being bored.
Primed frame
Freshly painted engine:
New pistons
New cam chain tensioner sprocket and roller
Starting to come back together:
One of my little helpers wearing his PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

And finally, the photos from today. I have the K&N filter pods off while I continue to tune in the carbs. I also plan to eventually add some turn lights and maybe change the mirror setup.
