Pilot Jet sizing

Hey Guys

I'm look for some guidance with selecting a pilot jet size.

I'm tuning a CG clone motor and with an aftermarket carb. I currently have a #25 pilot jet (original #17.5) in the carb and to tune for best idle I have the AIR screw turned out about 3/4 turns.

From what I understand, the pilot jet is still too small.

For me to land around the 1 1/2 turns out how many sizes should I go up? +1, +2 or even +3?

I hope someone can offer advice. I just want to avoid the trial and error expense.

Thanks in advance.

trial and error is how it is done , buy all the jets, if you dont like trial and error you picked the wrong hobby

If it IS "too small" and you increase the pilot orifice AND increase the air passing by will you increase or decrease the amount of fuel added to the mix? OR is it a "fuel" screw? and IS there an "air" screw also.

Think how siphon works... big ass Burger King straw vs little ass McDonalds Straw add air and booger sugar which ones gonna suck the line up faster?
