POD JETTING on 360

With stock carbs on a 1974 cb360 with uni foam filters is anybody changing anything,my stock main jet is a 100 I was thinking of going to a 110.any suggestions.

That's a very big jump. I'd keep it where you currently are and only change the jetting after getting a feel for it.

To give an example, stock jets in my 360 were 110s (not sure why yours are 100?). After going with an aftermarket cam, +2mm over pistons (effective engine displacement of 378cc), and velocity stacks, I'm currently running with 115s. It's not perfect just yet and I may even go down to 112s (I have pretty long exhaust and the 360 carbs are quite sensitive to exhaust length).

Yeah if they were 110s i would leave them alone.my 75 had 110s my74 has 100s so i might go up. Bikebandit list 2 main jets on the 74 100 and a110 dont know why.

Im running UNI pods and stock exhaust in my 360. Running stock jets it runs pretty well, has a flat spot 1/4 - 1/2 throttle but its not bad enough to make me start changing jets and twisting screws. I did go to a hotter plug which seemed to help, I would burn out the stock ones every couple months.

There are two different air boxes for 74 360's.
I only know because the wiring harness and rectifier/regulators are mounted differently.
The air filters are slightly different and the openings in airbox are different (can't remember exactly what, I'm running K&N filters ;D )
110~112 is good secondary main jet size if you don't have an open exhust.
Mid-range will be rich without some modifications

Nope, top end will be lean with stock 100.
Mid-range will be rich with 110

Send me the carbs
I 'fix' mid-range problem.
You still have to fine tune the fuel screws but they will be around 1-1/2 turns out, +/- 1/2 turn

AS its been said a million times on the internet, you need to buy a few jets and try out what works....
There are to many things that come into play when talking about jets
-altitude
-weather
-mods
-compression
-how well the rest of the bike is running.
-exhaust

Go for you for not buying shit emgo filters
Spend a few bucks and buy some jets....

Are you comfortable understanding how to actually tune the motor? do you have tools and a factory manual?

Ok the first thing you do...waste most of your summer riding season boink ass-ing around with them, spend endless hours searching for information and reading about cv carb theory and money on let me guess... 108, 112, 115 jets and carb cleaner and octane booster... and once you learn enough to really get em good and screwed up as much as you possibly can, (probably way too rich it pops and cuts out around 4500-6500 rpm and then more jets 105s, 102s til its so lean you have no power at all but your plugs dont foul, and after you dress up like a Japanese geisha girl and give the carbs a nice massage and that dont seem to help them. then you need to really get pissed off, start looking for the information about what size mikunis a 360 needs. and manifolds and throttle cables and all the bull shit that goes with those. cause they will need RE-JETTED also (even the ones that claim to be pre-custom jetted for pods on a 360 apparently arent right. check the prices on a set of mikunis...then its simple put your screwed up keihins in a box and send em to crazypj. He will dress up like a witch doctor. Throw a pile of chicken bones on them. and a week later the mailman will bring them back to you fixed and running awesome.

Or you could skip all that and just send em to PJ to start with. Done

Click this link and this is what I posted last week about my 360 carbs w pods

LOL, dat's funny ;D
More like Merlin though, (the Welsh wizard ;) )

If you want to talk to someone who can fix them, write PJ.
If you want to talk w the ulitmate authority on everything you could possible do them "EXCEPT" for fixing them, write me.
I have no doubts I was PJs most stubborn & skepticle customer he ever dealt with.
I also turned out to be the most impressed.
So, get over PJ and let me give you a hug...LOL Ill admit it that just weirded me out !
