I have the highest respect for Yamaha's brilliant history in motorcycling. I read a great book that told the history of Yamaha from the time Mr. Yamaha carried his first hand-made organ days by foot to a university to have it evaluated on through the 1970s.
With Yamaha's rich history building superb street and racing motorcycles, there is absolutely no good reason for anyone to do this sort of thing.
I have thought about putting Yamaha badges on the tank of my Norton before just so throngs of idiots would quit bothering me at gas stations telling me they have never heard of a Norton before. When someone reverses that idea though then they must be into motorcycling because they are terribly needy. I hope whoever buys this POS puts some Yamaha decals on the tank along with whatever it would take to make it practical transportation.
No, we totally get the point of this thread. What you may not be aware of is that NortonGuy likes to bash everybody else's work. He has been called out a couple of times for taking a DTT member's bike and posting it over on the JJ.
not sure why this thread was warranted. people can do whatever they want to their motorcycle for whatever reason they want so long as nobody else is put in danger. I wouldn't do what this guy did, but I'm glad he did what he wanted. If only to piss people off. This is less offensive to me than swastikas on motorcycles or confederate flags on pick-ups - but I still encourage people to display those things if they want to.
Yes its warranted. That's just the kind of stupidity that warrants a thread like this. Of course you can do whatver you want to your motorcycle but that doesn't mean I'm going to tell you its cool and you're a great guy with great ideas. I reckon if I took Ferrari decals and stuck them on my Dodge pick up you call it cool. But I have to ask do you really encourage people to display swastikas on their motorcycles?? Really?? Are you really that stupid and ignorant? Have you any idea of the significance of the swastika? I'll bet you believe the KKK is nothing more than a few good ol' boys letting off steam.
I know that there's someone out there that will say to this bike, "nice Norton" and have no idea. Maybe that's the thought behind it.
On an unrelated note, my CB says Honda in the same Norton lettering...done by the previous owner, but I'm the one rocking it all the same. Same thing? Maybe.

Really? I don't suppose you would like to give us a link to such a post on "JJ", which I am assuming stands for Jockey Journal. It should not be too hard, because according to my stats there I have a total of 14 posts at .01 posts per day, username BenG, so we will wait right here for you to back up your LIE.
Everyone knows that if I bash anything on this forum, I do it right here. So nice try Big Rich, anyone can go through my 14 posts on JJ and see that in fact you are a Liar.....
Caferacer.net. Jaguar, I believe it is? The thread where a bunch of pompous dicks talk about how wonderful they are while hating everyone elses bikes. Familiar?

"cool" is subjective. And just because I encourage others to do what they want doesn't mean I think Ferrari logos on a Dodge is a good idea. Don't confuse my ideals for my own personal taste. I don't actively encourage the displaying of swastikas. I actively encourage people to display whatever they want - if that's swastikas, so be it. Are you really that stupid and ignorant to be offended by a symbol? Understand I appreciate the difference between adorning one's own motorcycle and vandalizing a synagogue - do you?
