Possibly entering the 378 club!

That base gasket does look thick, did your pistons end up flush with the head as pic :

You're crazy thick on the base gasket. Did you have the head decked or something? What are you running on base and head gaskets? Compression? Higher crown height on non-GS pistons?

Yes. The head and cylinders were decked. A total of about .009”. Here’s the piston protrusion with no base gasket (@ .058”):

The gaskets I used are .063” for the base and .042” for the head.

just checked and i used exactly the same coppergaskets sizes !

Phew! Thanks for the validation. I thought I had it all right based on measurements and on previous posts from PJ and others, but those last two comments threw me for a bit of a loop!

I was more curious how you ended up with that setup. I think I was closer to 042 on my last 378 build, but I'd have to go dig through the thread to be sure. I have two more engines in my shop to build in the future, so it's nice to know what gets what.
