I had my hubs powder coated then put new seals and bearings in them. I've decided to change the color of the powder coat so I'll be stripping the hubs and re-doing the powder. My question is, will the cure temp of 350 ruin the bearings?
I dont think the heat is necessarily bad for the bearings, but it'll turn any lube into liquid and will probably run all over the place and mess with your PC. Pull the bearings.
Did you grease the bearings? If so, the grease will melt and run out in the oven and ruin the powdercoat. Also the heat of the oven may expand the hub and make the bearings fall out anyway.
Did the same thing and yes it did ruin the new bearings.
Also made them extremely difficult to get out after the fact.
My recommendation is remove the bearings.
