that is pretty slick. the real suck part will be bending the 'battery to sol.' and the 'sol. to starter' wire. Its thick and you have to pretty much pre-bend it to shape. this is a great project.
Well with our Christmas party out of the way I was able to get some work done. I have been working on Jenns bike this week too. So i have two projects going. I was able to finish the battery tray and the battery box. I drilled the crap out of the battery box. Lightened it up quite a bit. ;D
finished the taillight bracket too. it gets mounted by studs that are welded to the battery box. They go though the tray and then through the bracket. Then the battery tray has four rivets. I guess its been so long since I updated that i have since installed the engine and have it rolling. Im gonna call this final mock up. Looks pretty sweet.
Hey there,
hope your holidays were good amigo!
What wall thickness did you use for your seat frame and supports. sorry if it's mentioned elsewhere....
I love the curved supports
Thanks Swag. Yes mine were good. I hope yours were good too. I dont recall the thickness of tubing used I know its less than .120. 14 ga maybe. I went lighter than 120 because that seemed a bit heavier than what i needed.
Hey rip all you want. Its not my idea. I have to give that one to Bryan Fuller. I saw his bike at Barber and had to have it. I'm sure you could easily pull it off. Hell i halfway did. The fact I did the monoshock allowed me to run a thinner tubing. Its 1 inch O.D. BTW. Im glad you like it. I love it.
Thank you sir, your not too shabby yourself. I am glad you like it. There are some things that I came up with that i thought were pretty clever. I think I've done everything twice on this build. Go figure it is my first build. So I guess I was just gaining experience. I have a feeling i will be doing the frontend again too.
Just read the entire 36 pages just to get here and say.. hey very cool bike, let's ride, bring it to Mid-Ohio vintage days that's sooner than Barber. Great job.
Cheers, 50gary
Thank you 50 Gary. I would like to hit Mid Ohio one day. I dont know that I can make it this year. Not enough vacation. But hopefully in the the future. Thanks for reading the entire thread. I'm glad you survived. Heck im glad I have survived this long. Thanks for reading
