Had an exchange student from Spain stay with my family back in high school, named Augustus. Pronounced it Aug-oo-stus...Maybe similar?

The one that really erks me is when people say "Jaguar" like "Jag-wire".
Even though a Jag has wire in it, there isn't any in it's name.

I believe the proper pronunciation is Shag-u-are
