prototype for my vintage bobber/cafe build

Been Around the Block
Hey Guys, i've been looking all over the web and biker-build offs and all kinds of things to try to find some insperation for my build i really like the old school or vintage racers that i;ve seen. and I've come up with this prototype.

Bike As It Sits - http://www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/4554589/640/4554589.jpg
Protoype - http://www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/4554524/img/4554524.jpg
Speedo in frame - http://www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/4554579/640/4554579.jpg
Gas Tank - http://www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/4554599/640/4554599.jpg
Completed tail section - http://www3.picturepush.com/photo/a/4554606/640/4554606.png

All Gas lines and wireind would be cover in "faux" copper tubing with brass fittings tieing them into where they need to go.
For a paint color i've been leaning towards a vintage "hammered" green-blue color closest thing i;ve found so far is from this bike, but its not hammered paint http://www5.picturepush.com/photo/a/4554618/640/4554618.png its also part of my insperation for this bike along with this bike - http://www5.picturepush.com/photo/a/4554683/640/4554683.png
Let me know what you guys think!

If the fuel tank is lower than the carbs, how are you going to get fuel flow?
There won't be enough "suction" from the carbs to suck the fuel threw the lines? you think i will need some sort of fuel-up?

You'll need some sort of pump. Also while I like the idea I gotta say that that's not the prettiest frame to leave exposed. Just my two cents. Why not a tiny gas tank like this bike:

I like the thickness of the 400 frame as stead of just bars, it has the look like an "Old indian gas tank" without having the tank there, which is the feel im going for, so hidden gas tank to go alone with the look. what kind of pump do you guys think i'll need? even if i have the Pecock on the bottom of the gas tank i'll still need a pump of some kind? Also thinking about using like an old oil bag as the gas tank. or somehome redoeing the stock air box? just some ideas, not sure how well either would work

Mostly Triumph stuff and one-off custom $$$ bits. It's a show bike.

i like how clean the handle bars are on that bike aswell, what do you guys think about eleminating the hand brake? and only using the rear foot brake? there is no clutch on my bike because its an auto, so the other "dummy clutch lever"(the E brake) can also be removed, which would leave only the throttle cable and a nice clean front wheel. Also does anyone have or know where i can get nice clean simple rims like on that show bike? i really like the look of the front wheel with the fewer spokes and smaller wheel. When it comes to installing the Springer front end, and a smaller wheel like that is there anything special i need to know?

Thats just your standard aftermarket springer. You can actually make one if you know anyone with access to a machine shop. As far as the wheel, its super narrow. Look for alum wheels from dirtbikes. Excel, Akront, etc... Itll be a bit wider, but cheaper than finding/restoring an vintage wheel. If you decide to run a rear only brake setup, which isnt recommended here, youll need a spool hub to really keep the front wheel clean. Also not cheap. Well not for a new one.

How would i go about building one? do you have plans? Disassembly started yesturday, i got allot of the rear taken apart, air box, chain guard, blah blah. But Has anyone had any problems taking off the "E Brake"? i know it has a kill switch built into it, same with the double kickstand which i want to remove as well, anything i should know about taking either of them off? Not going with just rear brakes by the way!

does anyone have a wiring diagram on this bike CM400? so i can take off all the extras without interfering with the parts i need?

Give this a shot. It's for a CB400t but should help.
