Putting the front end back together?

Been Around the Block
Ok I have just about everything ready to go back together for the front end. But I don't know how to do the bearings I figured I would just clean everything really good and reuse the old ones, but I am not sure what kind of grease or whatever I need. Do I just put some grease in there and then the balls and then more grease and tighten it all up?
Thanks,
Dave

Replace the bearings with tapered! Believe me you will be much happier and you won't have to go in ther again for a long time, you got it apart you might as well do the replacement. The really aren't that expensive and the bike will feel much better. It's nothing really to do, just get all the ball bearing crap out of the way, then take a big f'ing screwdriver and drive out the old bearing races (you can fell them inside the neck), insert from the top to get the bottom race and vice versa, while doing this put the new tapered bearings in a freezer bags and put in the freezer for an hour or so to contract the metal, remove from freezer and fill the voids between the inner and outer races with grease applied with a needle adapter for your grease gun (available at any auto parts store). Lightly grease the inside of the neck then using a piece of PVC pipe the size of the outer race gently tap the tapered bearing home, keep the bearing square to the neck so it goes in evenly. Just insert the steering neck with triple clamps and the assorted spacers and stuff, you're done for another 4-5 years.

I don't plan on spending more money on bearings right now. So what is the best way to do it with the ones I have.
