Question about Honda CB350F Forks

How do you remove the chrome covers on the lower legs of a Honda CB350F fork? I can't remember ever having to do this before, but I'm sure I may have done similar forks. At any rate, the procedure has escaped my brain. This is the covers listed as part number 51402-333-000 and called "Cover, Bottom Case". TIA

There is a small slot where the chrome joins the fork leg. But you've got to be super patient and work it open slowly, especially since most of these haven't been removed since they came from the factory 45 years ago. There's no fastener holding them on. Heat might help but not too hot as there is plastic (IIRC) that holds them on.

Thanks much! I thought that was the case, but couldn't remember if there was some type of special voodoo involved.

Wrap some masking tape (or even thin card) around the chrome and tighten a hose clamp onto it.
You then have something to tap on to help loosen things up. Will probably need a few days soaking with release oil
