Hey everyone, Im trying to figure out what Im doing with my tach/speedo...Because obviously Im running a different than OEM situation...But what have you guys done with your triple clamps to make them work? Im thinking just shave it down a bit and drill some holes to hold the new ones on and try to make it look cool. But is that what you guys do or do you just run a completely different top triple clamp?

Be careful about drilling holes in the top clamp - it needs structural integrity.

What bike are you talking about? And some pics could probably help with getting some ideas.....

I use a Trail-Tech Vapor and drilled and tapped two 6 x1mm holes in the front face to mount it. I also removed the stock instrument mount bosses before powder coat.

Many top triples have threaded bosses in the bottom for the OEM gauge mounts. Use those, make an aluminum plate to mount your gauges.

Or if your bike had rubber-mounted bars and you're now running clip-ons use those holes.

Or use the top two bolts on your handlebar clamps and make a plate.

I'd look real hard at it before I drilled more.

What if I mount them on the bars with a clamp..Think it'd be safe to shave down the front of the triple clamp where the OEM stuff rest on?

If I understand what you're saying, yes.

Questions go better with pics. I get what youre saying, and you should be fine, but pics are helpful.
