RALEIGH NC DTT'rs

Yeah - no internet, can't access this forum from work. Anyway, fraid I am slammed on my project due to moving... gonna have to raincheck tonight.

Had a blast getting to know you all. We must definetly get together again. Maybe a saturday at Johann's shop as he sugested.

Great to meet you guys tonight. And I second Eddie's response, we need to go to Johanns shop one saturday and tinker around on the bikes.

It was great meeting all the guys this evening. (our first official Raleigh DTT meeting)
I saw the COOL Moto Guzzi outside. Next time I will bring my camera!

Please come and visit me at the shop on any Saturday for some "wrenching". Just give me a call in advance. (919)924-9891.

Very nice meeting you guys last night. looking forward to hitting up some roads out around the lakes sometime soon. Not to mention checking out Johanns shop.

BTW Sunday mornings at Michaels is a place thats trying to start back up. Its in Cole Plaza off of 15-501 in Durham. We should try to meet up there some time. There is usually quite a crowd, and people show up with everything.

Not sure if this link will work or not but give it a shot.

Anyone going to the vintage bike show swapmeet at the fairgrounds in Raleigh this weekend?
I will try to get there by 1pm

I'll have a booth out there - just mostly trying to sell some stuff left over from previous projects.

Stop by and say hello.

Me and a couple buddies were planning on riding down, haven't met anyone on here before but we're avid lurkers.

Eric, you should make a sign that says Byrdman76 to hang on your booth so people can find you. I will definetly stop and say hi.
J-eezy: You and your friend should definetly come out and get to know others from the forum. We had a nice time last week's get together.

Byrdman....Jon was telling me that you (i think it was you) have had some experience with titling bikes in NC, and that you said bonding a title really wasnt all that bad. Would you mind sharing your knowledge with me? Im sort of uncertain where to start with the process, and thus ive been putting it off. ;D

I'll send you the info.

Yeah, I have some non-cafe head buddies, that are meeting at the Farmers Market for breakfast at 8:30, then riding over. I'll be there on the cafe-T-Bird. If anyone wants to meet up, look for me there. Will be wearing a blue Triumph shirt.

Ok guys, I talked to Eric at the show and agreed to meet up early on Saturday to ride up to the Bull City Rumble together.

I figured the BP gas station on the intersection of Cornwallis Rd. and Hwy 55 in Durham would be a good spot to meet.
We are planning on meeting at around 10:15 10:30 am or so. There is supposed to be a breakfast going on at 11AM.

For those who would like to meet earlier at this location and ride out together, please chime in so we can keep a head count and not leave anyone behind.

Hope to see you all there.

Scott, I heard you stopped by Eric's at the vintage show at the fairgrounds. I guess I'll meet you on the 4th.

Yeah, finally made it out. It was really not a bad show for a first year. A group I know started a similar gig over in TN, and now it is a really big deal. I hope the event was sucessful enough that they decide to stick with it.

Anyone thinking of going up to the Rumble on Friday night???

Anyhow, maybe we can set a regular time and place for a gathering of this group? Might help me get it in the saidule...

I won't be there friday night but will be there all day Saturday.
Johan already offered his shop for us to hang out and get together, work share ideas etc. He said we could come by on saturdays, just call ahead. I would like to at least set up once a month were we get together.

It would be really good if that event last saturday turns into a big deal in the future. I don't think it was that big this year, but you're right Scott, Some events start out small and get huge with time. Sounds a lot like people who go to Mc Donalds, they start out small then.....

So i know that October 2nd is a long way off, but my company I work for is having a charity ride for United Way. It will include motorcycles, classic cars, and hot rods. So since it will include motorcycles and it is for a good cause, I figured we could try to get some people together to go ride with them that day. Below is the link for the registration form that you will need to fill out and send to the HR department of Altec. If you pre-register for the ride the cost is $25, and that will include food and such after the ride back at Altec. I know $25 is a lot for going riding on a Saturday, but the money goes to charity so it seems like a pretty good deal to me. Myself and amturbev, and possibly jehymel, are planning on attending as long as everything works out with getting our bikes together and licensed by then, which will most likely happen since its over a month away. Just keep me posted on if you are planning on attending so I can have an idea of who to look for there and such. It would be great to see a good little group of us DTT'ers out for a charity ride together, maybe we can little leather vests with the DTT logo on the back or something shnazzy like that, haha.

You work all the way up by Creedmoor ? There is an assembly plant for Altec there. Is that the one you're talking about?

About the ride, that sounds good. I don't know if I'll be able to make it since I am not sure if i will have my knee surgery on the 6th or before that. But I will keep you posted before then.

Are any of you going to the Bull City Rumble?
