Rare 1971 yamaha front drum wheel (number 2) on ebay: $225.00

I lowered the buy it now price to $200.00. There is a reserve price on it. It's a nice setup. Off the fork and washed a bit. Email if interested I can send more pictures. If not it might work it's way onto one of my setups.

You say it's rare but I see two in the picture! No offense, but $200.00 is way steep for that wheel.

I do believe he sold one for good money.

I agree i don't see $200 there but that doesn't mean someone else does.
Some people understand the value of some parts, would you pay a grand for 4 into 4 CB750 pipes? does that mean you should just cut them or other wise not get them out on the market to someone that wants them?
The OP probe got a great deal on the wheels and is selling them on at a profit to fund his other bikes. whats wrong with that? I say nothing

I got HATE like you could not believe when i listed my GT750 drum here for $500
that was the going rate on Ebay, people started talking about how they bought one years ago for a pack of lucky strikes.....
long story short i got it....

guys need to recognize the value of some parts and respect them.
Ive seen guys cut the "unicorn" off a 69-71 cb750 triple to fit crapy mini gauges......thats a $250 part! If the person had taken the time to think then they would have sold the triple and had the money to do something better with there own bike.....so now two bikes are better instead of both being EH....

That's all true, but 200 bucks for an XS1 drum brake is a little high IMHO. I have bought and sold 2 of them and two GT750 drums and they are not worth that much to me. In fact I have a fully rebuilt XS1 drum here with Vintage Brake linings etc that cost over 200 for the re-lining and machining. I think I paid less than $40 for the original brake. I also sold one for about 60 - 80 a year or so ago.

So to me, that's expensive and it's no better than say a CB77, CB450 or whatever drum.

Of course I haven't checked prices recently. maybe I'll get a nasty surprise and find that all the obsolete crap I could find for pennies per pound has been bought up and is now sitting in garages waiting to emerge in the spring like cafe racer butterflies.

Duly noted. I meant no offense but should have kept my mouth shut. One man junk is another.....well, you know the rest.

Is what it is.. Honestly If you know what you are doing they clean up well. I've got industrial tumblers etc when I clean up my parts. Price is what is but they are clean front drums that can be rebuilt with minimal rust on the links etc. I've seen some nasty scratched up dinged up drums that can't be saved. These can be salvaged with minimal work to some i've seen in my opinion.
