I am planning on building my own rearsets for my XS but was wondering if you could recommend how I should go about mounting the rearset, specifically the pivoting shifter and brake lever.
I plan on building a bracket and welding it to my frame.
I then plan on having the lever built from aluminum.
I am looking at doing something like this
I believe that I will run a largesingle bolt to go through the bracket and then into the peg portion of the rearset. From this image there is some kind of spacer in between the rearset and bracket.
I was planning on placing a thrust bearing on either side of the bracket, one next to the bolt head and the other next the rearset pivot portion. Here is my sketch, looking head on.
Am I going about this the right way or is there an easier was without the use of bearings? What do you guys use to limit the free play but still allow a smooth shifting/rotation.
