The garbage above was posted by a moderator at caferacer.net and attributed to one of our newer members here. I was duped and posted what amounts to a 'call-out on the poor guy. I have apologized but still feel kinda bad, not only for calling him out for it by mistake but for missing the fact that it had been changed from the original message to a smelly little peek at that mods personality.

What makes me wonder is that Plat posted that on the 2nd and the moderator (Geet70?) edited it on the 3rd.

Not taking sides in all this- but I do want to hear what's up.....

Unfortunately the first time I saw that post there's wasn't an edit notification at the bottom.

If this wasn't Platkeyboy's words then I owe him an apology. However, that still doesn't change the fact that there are several 'members' here that are nice when posting here and shitheads over there, to the point of dissing DTT to get a strokin' from whichever wang over there has a free hand to rub with..

In case you didn't catch that, the moderator stepped in and changed nearly everything in my post, for what reason I don't know. Sorry again--lesson learned about a certain group of guys, and thanks for bringing it to my attention.

P.S., Swagger, I don't have any hard feelings about you lumping me in with insecure guys who would do such a thing to "score points," by the way. I've heard those guys could be jerks... I guess I should have heeded the warning. Believe me, I like to live with a higher level of integrity than that--which is why my nickname is the same in just about every forum. I guess time will be the only thing that will prove to you guys that I'm not the type of guy to do such a thing. It makes my stomach turn, honestly.

Sad sad sad. You can see the 'last edited by Geeto67' in the first post of that thread 'over there'.

I'm sure there are lots of less vocal really solid guys (like Swagger) over there, but I don't have the time to frequent other forums to find out for myself. Its always the vocal minority that can fuck things up, and when that very vocal minority also happens to be in charge, well, then there's nothing to do but send in the drones.


So maybe Swagger now that this has been cleared up, it would be a good idea to edit your original post to reflect what really happened. I'd hate for anyone to read just the first post or two and get the wrong idea.

I left CR after all the assholes chose to spam me with "your young and stupid, listen to us" instead of actually providing me with help. then i came here, and low and behold, Crazy PJ happens to be a member here also.

but then i realized, PJ actually isn't an asshole, the other guys are, and since the environment there was so hostile it was hard to decipher the constructive criticism from the shit. DTT rocks.

I feel like bumping this thread until I have cleared my name, but I'm just going to let it go after this I think. Kopcicle, I took an hour or so and read those WAB stories--that's a shame, but it's not the first time I've seen such a thing. I went to college with a girl who was a chronic liar, and she eventually made the mistake of choosing an illness that kills nearly 100% of those who are diagnosed, and it kills quickly. Well, she didn't have the ability to cut ties with friends that fast. My fiance (now wife) was the first to say something, and then I caught on pretty quickly. My best friend at the time believed the lies and wouldn't listen to me--he was dating a girl who believed it all too and she was a very good friend to her. It nearly destroyed a few friendships, but the truth was finally brought into the light for our entire circle of friends (50-60 members of a campus club/organization who had been praying for her and such).

But what do you do, you know? Unlike the moderators of some less-than-stellar motorcycle forums, she was not consciously malicious. She wasn't actively seeking to break the hearts of her close friends (which she ultimately did), and she will probably go on to do the same again, much like WAB (although Marty might have had ill intentions coupled with the lying). Anyway, I'll be around, and hopefully I'll meet enough of you for you to know that I'm a harmless cornball with a wife and two kids, poor welding skills, and almost zero bike budget. Peace.

I post on both boards, and few others, and I would swear that the original post was very different to the way it reads now.
 
Im very glad that this came to light the way that it did. Yet, I still feel very sad that this went down at all. The mods on a forum should be the absolute LAST person to pull such a juvenile prank. I mean, seriously- this could have ended Platkey's passion for vintage motorcycles.

Let's remember though: it's not every member over there. I've met one member personally and he is a top notch character.
