rebel 450 bobber project.

Looks great so far!

I don't mind the tank. It looks good, it fits and most importantly you've already got it.
For me the real eyesore is all the stuff going on in the handle bar area. The gauges, dummy lights, signal, mirrors, levers w/ big clunky switchs ( you know, all the stuff to make it safe) I don't know the legals where you are, but here in NC you can ditch all that stuff. Cept you do have to have a mirror. I have used a bicycle speedo and 3/4" dental mirror to pass inspection.

Keep up the good work!

yeah im for sure ditching the turn signals and the big clunky light. those simple small bar end mirrors have grown on me and im gonna get one for the mini apes (wonder how its gonna look)

got my bars from front street cycle and i painted them black right away.

put them on today, even my only beef is the actual "handle" part of the bars isnt as long, so the clutch sits on the curve and throws my lever up over my grip a little bit when i pull it. its just awkward. anyone ever try heating up the lever a little bit and bending the end so it wont do this?

I don't know how big your hands are, but if you have the room, you can try installing smaller grips. This will allow you to move the controls a little farther out, thus correcting the angle issue. Shortening the throttle side is as easy as hacksawing the end of the throttle tube to mach the length of the new grip.

ok so over a year later, i didnt get that much done or do anything with motorcycles and for that i am ashamed. but if its worth anything, this year i traveled everywhere tattooing. philly, scranton, new hampshire, nyc, europe, opened a new studio in detroit, and im going back to nyc next month. but i got depressed and missed my bikes too much and realized i needed to keep on some projects. i finally got my rebel450 to the point where im not embarassed of its looks. so, finally, here it is.

Looks great Mike. Cool thing is there are so few of these bikes around most people won't know what you started from. But a huge improvement.

Loks bad ass man!The back really cleaned up, and to be honest, I actually like that brown bike seat you had on there. More pictures please.
