removing front axle

Been Around the Block
so i can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the front axle from the wheel of my cb360.

i consulted the Clymer, but there is nothing in it about removing the axles.

Ive sometimes had to use a rubber mallet and smack em out. Carefull you dont futz up the threads however. I would suggest putting a couple layers of tape over them to help prevent this. I learned the hard way :( Thankfully i had a spare. Sometimes, in doing this, you can mess up the wheel bearings, so you may double check those before you head out after putting the wheel back on. Safety first :) Oh, a lil grease goes a long way in getting them back in too...maybe thats why they call it axle grease? Hrmmm 8)

Once you have removed the front wheel from the forks, you should see the holes in the end of the axles. Take a couple of big-ish philips-head screw drivers and insert them through the holes... the unscrew the axle. Does that make sense?

One end of the axle is a nut... once you take it off the axle should just slide out.

yeah, i think my problem is i'm too chicken feces to really crank on the axle. don't wanna fud things up. could have just been that it was 3 in the a.m. and i didn't have it in me.

That axle is 20mm in diameter with very chunky threads. You won't damage it by cranking on the nut.
