So I have a 74 cb360 that im doing my first build on learning as I go and I have been thinking of ways to reduce weight lately. Ive always enjoyed kickstart the little I have ridden so I figured I would start looking into removing the starter.
Before I start ripping into stuff I know very little about I was hoping to get some questions answered so I know ill be achieving what I want to.
If I remove the starter will I be able to remove the front hand controls and just kickstart with a constantly running headlight and no turn signals or will I need to bypass more wiring to do that?

Any help greatly appreciated!

You can rewire the bike to do just about anything you want, remove controls and hot wire all the stuff that needs to be moved. I would at least find a control with an emergency kill switch located somewhere close to your thumb so you shut things down when you need to. Can find them on eBay or DCC or other stores.

Removing the starter also entails pulling the left side stator covers OFF and pulling the stator rotor and gutting whats left of the starter clutch and all AFTER you pull the stater motor. If you leave all that crap in, you can lock them motor up with the chain and sprocket. You also have to find a plug for the hole, crazypj sells a nice turned one. Or you can get a cheapo freeze plug from the auto parts store.

Search around on here and on the web for simplified wiring diagrams and starter removal processes, there are tons on DTT and other websites, it's been done and done and done so many times I can't count them all anymore.
