Ok like the title states I am doing some serious thinking about this. So this weekend I am headed to our local pedal bike shop and purchasing a wireless speedometer with odometer etc. My goal is to see just how accurate it is,and if its accurate I want to get rid of that stuff and clean up that area, make my bike more stream line. First problem that I can think of is removing the tach and properly setting my idle. My main concern is plugging the tach hole on the right side of the motor. I have had some ideas about cutting a hole in my headlight bucket and fitting my tach in the bucket. I dygress, any tips on plugging that whole or what I may incounter while doing this would be appreciated. Thankyou
that depends on the bike computer, most have the ability now to ente the circumference of the wheel so it can be set for any size wheel. we use them on the pit bikes for example and also as backups on the road bike .
i would get the hole welded up and polished back , but at the other end of the scale something with the same thread if it screws in would work. or a alloy plate with aviation gasket if its a screw fastened type. ( dont know on that one)
Thankyou all for the imput. I may try to find a cap. I thought someone on here made one,but its for a 360, not a 350.bummer. I have some work to do this weekend.
Bicycle computers work OK on motorcycles - although I've heard some of the wireless ones can get interference in the signal from the engines' ignition (not sure if this is fact or myth - but it's technically possible).
Biggest issue with them is most are not backlit (so riding at night is guesswork). And some of the ones over here only go up to 99kph.
