Rude Boy
"Strong Like Lion, We Are Iron"
Hello All,
Im hailing from a collection of islands in the northwestern most tip of the good ol' USA; the San Juan Islands. Been here dealing w/ the all the Hippies, Rednecks, and long winters most my life.
It wasn't so long ago when I had no clue what a "cam shaft" was, and oil types made me nervous. But after working at a local auto shop as clean-up, having a best friend who is a wrencher, and buying a Datsun 280zx it was about damn time I got my hands dirty.
Flash forward through shop manuals, $100 tool kits, mentors, busted knuckles and a new appreciation for cussing; Finally, last spring, I snapped and decided it was about damn time I get me a bike. I had it all figured out, i was gonna get me my permit, a classics bike I could work on and be riding in a month. Fuck man, was that a joke or what.
After working 7 nights a week through summer in a shitty job, paying off countless debts and surprise financial attacks; The wrench bud and I drove a jalopy of a truck all the way down to Corvallis, Oregon to pick up a 6k mileage "mint, light smoke" 1971 cb350... man I swear that bike produced a bigger smoke screen than James Bond's rigs.
But, I was crazy w/ desire for a bike and it was a decent-ish price (not)
So thats when I met my Nightmare CB.
Now spring is rapidly approaching, and i think its almost done (knock on some wood till mah knuckles bleed).
I've been aware of DTT for a while now, but as Im reaching the end of my motor rebuild I've got some mystery problems I cant seem to make any sense of, so Im gonna become an active member in this exponentially growing forum.
I'll post the start of my Build Thread later tonight and post a link on this thread. Check it out and help me out!
Alright guys, to the good times ahead!
