I got my all balls wheel bearings last year, but never got around to installing them. On the rear wheel there is a nut that you need a special too to remove, I could make a tool, but I was wondering if you even need to remove the retaining nut to get the bearings out. Can I just push from the nut side (through the little hole) to push them out? If not, what do I do short of making a tool?
On the front wheel, there doesn't appear to be a retaining nut- do I just push them out? I have a shop press I have access to, but the amount of force that thing is capable of scares me, esp when I'm not sure I'm pressing on the right thing.
p.s. I tried to use a drift on the rear wheel bearing retaining nut, but it appears to be aluminum and is far too soft for that to work.
